Out of town - oh what a surprise!

This time I'm in San Antonio and I have to say it's rather fun. I got here yesterday (via a bizarre flight with Southwest - no-one told me that the plane would first go to Phoenix where I would get to sit on it on the runway for 30 mins while pretty much everyone else got off - anyway...) and have actually had a little free time as the conference didn't start until this afternoon. This morning I went for a stroll around town and saw the Alamo, went down to the riverwalk and such like. Anyway I am here until tomorrow, the it's off home and then off to Paris (with a quick pit-stop at the doctors office:). Enjoy the pictures!

The Alamo

Inside the Alamo

A cool cathedral on the main Plaza

The view from my hotel balcony (it's quite fancy - although I did have to stay in two different hotels as the IRS - whose conference it is - overbooked one hotel and there wasn't enough room for both nights!)

Our Nations Capitol (well not mine actually, but perhaps yours?)

Part 1 - Here I am, once again, out of town! This time I am in Washington DC and, although I would much rather be at home, I have to say it's pretty fun. I have never been here before and, aside from the humidity, it is quite the fun place to visit. I arrived on Tuesday and will be here until tomorrow, and have not had too much free time. However I did get some time yesterday to go up to the Capitol and meet with a couple of Utah Congressman, after my meetings (which well rather well) I went to Georgetown with some colleagues and had some delicious dinner. Georgetown was really cool and had some awesome shops and buildings, I would've liked to have gone back and hung out some more there but the conference schedule has been pretty full. Then today I got some time to go to the Mall - not like Fashion Place - the Mall with the Washington Monument, The White House, Lincoln Memorial etc.
Part 2- So now I'm at the airport in Denver with a 3 hour layover and thought that it would be a good time to finish up this post (I didn't finish it the other night as I became engrossed in a show called 'The Principals Office' on cable - anyways.....). My trip to Washington was so fun, my only wishes are that 1- Anna had come with me and 2 - I had a little more free time. Like I mention above I got to go to the Mall and see all the touristy stuff, I also really wanted to go the Smithsonian museum of American History (I hear that the 'Happy Days' set is now there!) but it is closed until November. I really enjoyed the Lincoln Memorial, although I do have to say that the White House was not as big as I thought it would be, it kind of just looked like one of those big house up by the U. I was also toying with the idea of heading back to Georgetown last night but I was so tired, the time difference (which I know is only two hours) about killed me, I had the hardest time sleeping, so I decided to stay in the hotel. I would love to come back to Washington again as there was so much I wanted to see/do - oh well. My trip really was quite fun and now get to go home for two days and then I am off to San Antonio on Tuesday - if it's still there! I am really looking forward to getting home and hanging out with my girls and sleeping in my own bed. Anyway I hope you enjoy the pictures and look out for more to come from my next trip! (and then after that it's off to Paris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Time to vote!

As you know we are super duperly expecting our very first baby and are due to find out what we are having on Sept 19th. With that in mind it's time to vote and let us know what you think we are having (I know it's quite a cliched thing to do but ho hum) will it a be a Barnaby or a Rudy? Anyway check out the poll in the sidebar and we'll let you know if you were right on the 19th!

Some new pictures

Here are some new family pictures that Eduardo took the other day, the pictures were taken on the deck at Anna's parents house. They have since moved down to SLC (which is a story for another day!) so we took a few 'last weekend' family pictures (they didn't sell the house, they are renting it out, so maybe they'll be back up there one day). Alison, Darren and Edison weren't there on this particular weekend, Jacob and Elisa are also missing from the pictures even though they were there - they just declined to come out and be a part of the pictures!!! Oh well!.
Anyway enjoy the pictures and Anna would like me to remind you that she is pregnant and not just fat - I have no such excuse!

Here I am

So here I am out of town once again and missing Anna. I am currently in my hotel room in St George and, although I do get to watch cable TV, I am done with having to go out of town. Last week I was in Chicago (again), this week I'm in St George, next week I'm in Washington DC and then the week after that I'll be in Texas. The thing that keeps me going to knowing that the day after I get back from Texas, we are going to find out what we are having and heading off on our trip, together, to Paris and London! So I can't complain too much, life is good I am just fed up with having to go out of town. It's kinda sad but I get a little down when I am out of town because I would 100% prefer to be home with Anna and Georgie. I always used to think that it would be fun to have a job that required me to travel but now that I do, I really am not a big fun. Don't get me wrong there are certainly some fun aspects to traveling and getting to visit lots of cool places (like last week when I was in Chicago I visited the Art Institute - which was awesome!), but at this point in time the cons most definitely outweigh the pros. Anyway rant over, pretty much the point of this post is that I am out of town and wish that I could be home with Anna - I miss you hon!
