Summer's Here and Cullen's 1 Year Old!

May I help you with something?

No binky - no problem, just use your fist

Looking slightly grumpy at Cullen's b'day party - Very cute!

Hanging out with Grandma, not too sure about this pool party...

Learning how to use Daddy's favorite toy

Cuddling with hillbilly Mummy, looks like Maia has had enough of the party

I am just sooooo cute

Does this make my cheek look fat?

At least someone liked the rice cereal!

Daddy's favorite picture - just adorable

Erm - you do realize that I can't get up from this lovesac on my own?

Best friends - no really

Hey there

It's been pretty hot here, which Georgie and Poppy have been enjoying. We've all been doing some yardwork, spending some time outside, and planting a vegetable garden. Yesterday, Poppy had her first swimming experience at Cullen's first birthday party (pictures attached!) Cullen turned one on the 23rd May, and while Edison liked the pool, I think Poppy, Maia and Cullen enjoyed watching more.
Poppy is a little over 3 1/2 months old now, and is definitely getting some meat on her bones! She is finally developing little fat rolls, chubby cheeks, and has gorgeous eyelashes and a big smile to go along! Her eyes are getting lighter, but are still blue, so Paul and I think they might stay blue. She's getting more coordinated, and loves holding onto her bib, burp cloth, blanket, or the edge of her shirt (whatever's closest). She coos and talks a lot now, which is adorable. She's tried rice cereal a couple of times, but hasn't quite figured out how to swallow it yet. And we can't complain, because last night Poppy slept from 10 pm to 7:45 am!
Alison and I took Edison and Poppy over to visit my cousin Taryn and her boys, and it was fun seeing Poppy with Truman, who is only 2 days older than Poppy. They were about the same size, but Truman was a little taller and Poppy's head slightly larger (she was, after all, in the 90th percentile for head size last time we went in)! I might have to get a picture of them from Taryn to post. At one point, they were holding hands, and although probably not really aware they were doing it, it was still very cute.
Georgie still really likes Poppy and is always trying to jump on her or kiss her (see for yourself in the pictures). It's cute, but kinda gross.
Paul's friends Vicky and Neil (Paul's best "man" at our wedding) just adopted a little boy named Elliott. He's one year old and has the same birthday as Poppy! We're so excited for them and hope to get some pictures of the happy family soon.

3 months old!!!

We can hardly believe that our little Popsicle is already 3 months old (technically, she was 3 months old on Wednesday, May 6th). While she is still quite small just around 11 pounds, she definitely looks much older when compared to her newborn photos. Most recently, she has begun to laugh and finally focus a bit more on toys and colors. While she still has yet to reach for any objects, she definitely admires things from afar, most notably her mommy & daddy. Sometimes I'll look over to catch her watching me, and when I say "Hello!" in greeting, she gives me the biggest grin she can muster. She absolutely loves her Baby Einstein Mozart movie, and will sit with her eyes glued to the tv screen watching all the colors and movement. In case you were wondering, my favorite bit is the cats meowing the tune to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". It's amazing how fast you can memorize the movies and music your kids watch/listen to!
Today we decided to buy a couple of the more "traditional" binky styles to see if she would like them. I pulled one out of the package at the store and popped it in her mouth, after which she promptly spit it out. We tried a couple of times, but definitely got the hint: Poppy will only take her soothies!
Georgie has been so great with Poppy. While Poppy has yet to really acknowledge Georgie, Georgie on the other hand dotes on the baby, trying to get in as many kisses as possible! I'm still not sure if Georgie really loves kissing Poppy because she likes her or whether it's the seemingly endless stream of formula dribbling from Poppy's mouth. Maybe we'll never know.
Hopefully our more distant family will enjoy these pictures--after only a few weeks, she has changed so much! Paul and I have been busy, and it's pretty hard to find time to blog with Poppy, work, Church, yardwork, cleaning...the list goes on! I don't know how we do it, but time flies and here we are!

Dad & Sue's visit

A couple of weeks ago, Dad and Sue came to visit and meet little Poppy. We had some fun times at This is the Place Heritage Park, the Cheesecake Factory (where we saw a real live mouse running across the floor--strangely enough we didn't lose our appetites), the capitol building, and Park City. My parents were the ever-gracious hosts and took Dad and Sue up to Shoshone Falls in Idaho for a day trip while Paul and I were working. Dad and Sue were great babysitters and let us go out for my birthday while they watched Poppy. Poppy is a lucky girl, because there are always plenty of people that don't mind looking after her and helping us out when we need a break!
We had a fun couple of weeks with Dad and Sue and enjoyed watching her meet more of her English family!
