Luke Thomas

Congratulations to Alison, Darren & Edison on the new arrival to their family! Luke Thomas was born last Friday the 19th, and weighed 8 lbs 7 oz (1 oz. heavier than Poppy weighed)! It was definitely weird being back in one of those rooms at IMC after 4 months have passed since we had Poppy there. I think Poppy must have recognized it, because she started crying the minute we went in. We think Luke looks a little more VanDenBerghe than Edison does, but then who can really tell at birth?

Paul gets to chill in SanFran, and Anna gets to change all of the diapers for 3 days--awesome!

Lucky Paul gets to take a mini trip to San Francisco, which is okay since technically he's not on vacation because he has to go to boring conference meetings. Although he does get to listen to Michelle Obama speak, which he has been bragging about since Friday. Anyway, in honor of Paul's coach flight, I thought I would attach one of my fave Brian Regan stand-ups about airplanes & such. I could listen to this 85 times and still think it's hilarious!

What a week!

Today we had a zoo trip with grandma, Edison (while Alison was at the doctor's), Vicki, Maia and Cullen, and a cameo by Joey at lunchtime before he went back to work. It was pretty fun, and we got some cute pictures! I don't think Poppy cared so much for the animals, but she was a good girl in her stroller most of the time.
As for the rest of the week, it hasn't been so fun for Leggett family--thank heavens it's almost the weekend! About two hours ago, Paul cut his fingers on a glass vase while cleaning and thus the picture of the stitches. It looked pretty gross, but luckily the doctor numbed it up before putting in the 14 stitches on 2 of his fingers. My parents were kind enough to watch Poppy while we went to the clinic, but when we got home we discovered that my dad knocked out all the power to one side of the house by plugging his RV into our outlet outside. Paul was pretty sad to miss "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here".
On Monday, I came down with some kind of flu, or as Paul believes, food poisoning. I'm not sure Paul believed me until I collapsed in bed wearing socks and a sweater, so he took my temperature and it read 101.7! Luckily the fever broke and I started feeling better on Tuesday, but maybe I passed it on to poor Georgie, who threw up in her crate and had a little accident on the floor. As for Poppy...luckily she hasn't come down with anything (knock on wood!), but she definitely still has her bad days with reflux.
Here's looking to next week!
