Dad & Sue's visit
A couple of weeks ago, Dad and Sue came to visit and meet little Poppy. We had some fun times at This is the Place Heritage Park, the Cheesecake Factory (where we saw a real live mouse running across the floor--strangely enough we didn't lose our appetites), the capitol building, and Park City. My parents were the ever-gracious hosts and took Dad and Sue up to Shoshone Falls in Idaho for a day trip while Paul and I were working. Dad and Sue were great babysitters and let us go out for my birthday while they watched Poppy. Poppy is a lucky girl, because there are always plenty of people that don't mind looking after her and helping us out when we need a break! We had a fun couple of weeks with Dad and Sue and enjoyed watching her meet more of her English family!
"You won’t see this in your local newspaper any day soon. It comes from the Latin poppysma, via the defunct French popisme. Romans used the original for a kind of lip-smacking, clucking noise that signified satisfaction and approval. In French, it referred to the tongue-clicking tsk-tsk sound that riders use to encourage their mounts. The only writer in English known to have used our word was James Joyce, in a stage direction in Ulysses: 'FLORRY WHISPERS TO HER. WHISPERING LOVEWORDS MURMUR, LIPLAPPING LOUDLY, POPPYSMIC PLOPSLOP.'"
Georgie girl
She may look innocent, but don't be fooled, she one crazy pup
